Ice piles up near Justus Park and the Veterans Bridge in Oil City on Thursday, Dec. 29. The ice pack goes as far back as the Wye Railroad bridge and extends approximately at least a half-mile beyond the Oil City Marina according to The Nature of Things columnist Anna Applegate who was out and about Thursday with her call phone camera. "A Facebook message to the National Weather Service office in Pittsburgh said they are watching the situation," she wrote adding the office said it "should be warm enough tonight through tomorrow night to continue melting a good bit of the ice. The rainfall on Saturday shouldn't be enough to cause significant issues."
