
Franklin dropped a close match to Redbank 36-38 on Senior Night at The Castle. Forfeits played a key role as the Knights won the majority of the contested matches. The evening included three forfeits by the Knights to only one by Redbank Valley.
The Bulldogs won with pins at 139 and 285, a technical fall at 127 and a decision at 160.
For Franklin, Cael Dailey (13-2) recorded a pin at 114 in 2:39 to get Franklin on the scoreboard. Trenton Rice (8-8) came out victorious in the 133 bout with a fall at 4:42. Drew Kockler (6-7) also recorded a pin in 1:51 in the 152 weight bracket. Gary Kiselka (8-4) ended the night for Franklin with the final pin at 3:10 in the 215 class.

Senior 172 pounder Jonah Heckathorne made the most of his night after being honored and joined at center mat by his family, he then logged a pin in 3:40. He was winning the match 4-0 before trapping Jonathan Slack on his back for the win. Heckathorne, who placed eighth at the District 10 tournament last year, is now 9-6 on the season.Heckathorne was one of five Knights to earn a pin Monday night.
The Knights are 4-6 on the season and 2-2 within Region 2. They return to region competition on Wednesday when they travel to Conneaut Area Senior High and are scheduled to spend the weekend Howland Invitational in Ohio. They have one final home contest when they host Cranberry for a non-region match-up on Feb. 13.
