I was pleased to be asked to photograph Saegertown softball for my old friends at The Meadville Tribune. For years Saegertown and Cochranton were powerhouses with extremely exciting aggressive squads. Sadly I had a previous commitment and was only able to photograph an inning and a half and not much action took place in that time. But it was fun being on a field I remember photographing a lot of little league games and then top-notch softball. I also remember once photographing a few people trying to catch a wild bunny that kept running out onto the field.

Route 8 Rivalry is a website dedicated the long history of the Oil City and Franklin football rivalry by former sports editor Penny Weichel. It is an amazing labor of love and valuable resource for history. It is our go-to here at 8and322.com.
