District harriers conquer Ed Myer complex en route to states

Several area harriers qualified for the state cross country following Saturday’s District 10 Championships at the Ed Meyer Complex in the Titusville.
​
In Class AA, three Oil City Oilers will be making the trip to Hershey.

​Senior Keegan Kirkwood placed 12th with a time of 16:30 to lead the boys team.

​Teammate Rilee Matalino finished in 16:41, good enough for 15th place and a spot in the state competition.

Corabel Shiley will be making a return trip to states after finishing fifth with a time of 18:50.

Franklin Knight Alayna Gahr clocked a time of 20:04, good enough for 17th place and a spot in the state race.
​
Three Meadville Bulldogs also qualified.

​Megan Puleio, medal with a fourth place finish in the girls race with a time of 18:30.

​In the boys race James Welsh, fifth, 16:21, and Vance Hohmann, 14th, 16:40, will both move on, as well.
​
In the A division, Nolan Minnich of Cochranton was the top local finisher in the boys race. The sophomore ran the 5K in 16:31 to finish in sixth place.

Not far behind him was Gauge Gierlach of Rocky Grove, who clocked a 16:39 to earn an eighth-place medal.

​Isaiah Simpson of Cambridge Springs finished in 13th place with a 16:53 time to punch his ticket to Hershey.
​
Isabel Griffin, a senior from Rocky Grove, will make her third appearance in the state cross country meet. She was the top local finisher in the girls A division, coming in fourth with a time of 19:40.
​
A trio Saegertown Panthers finished in the top ten of the girls race - Reese Digiacomo, 5, 19:47; Myla Bland, 7, 19:50; and Camryn Harakal, 8, 19:54.
​
The PIAA Cross Country Championships will be held November 1 at the Parkview XC Course in Hershey.

Grayson Steinbuhler was the top runner for the Titusville Rockets. He finished with time of 16:53, earning him a 23rd place finish out of 119 racers.Also running for the Rockets in the Boys AA race was Andrew Bryan, Cash Lavery, Keaton Rhodes and Landen Hosick.
​
Kylie Crocker was the Rockets only entry in the girls race. Crocker finished with a time of 22:09, good enough for 65th out of 114 competitors.
