Sophomore wrestler Elijah Brosius can say he had a banner year his freshman season - literally. Brosius was recognized during a brief ceremony prior to Cranberry's match with Redbank Valley Tuesday evening. Coaches Andrew Brosius (who is also his father), Mike Crocker, Darren Wenner and Dustin Wenner presented the athlete with a banner to commemorate his District 9 champion season. Brosius competed in the 106 weight class last year and finished the season with a 34-8 record. Along with winning the District 9 AA title, he finished third in the northwest regional competition and eighth in the state. This year, he competes in the 121 weight class and is 24-7 on the season so far. He attends Oil City High School and competes with Cranberry through a co-op program between the two districts. |
