Cochranton/Saegertown battled for two sets before Panthers fizzled

Our contributing volleyball columnist guru. Lisa Renwick, said that the match-up between last years D-10 finalists Tuesday night would be a must see.

And for the first two sets she couldn't have been any more right.

Both squads are coached by seasoned state championship coaches and they had their teams ready to do battle.

Saegertown jumped out a little bit in the first when Cochranton's coach Marci Malliard called a key early timeout to right her squad. It worked and they came back to take the first set 25-21.

The second set was equally tough but Saegertown came out on top 25-22. It had the makings of a long night. 

But then it seemed like Saegertown just fizzled, their block attempts that were gold in set two suddenly had little affect and they appeared almost unable to dig anything off the floor or even at knee level for a while.

Cochranton then just cruised to an easy set win 25-10 and continued to dominate in the fourth set winning 25-12.
