| Franklin jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start Friday's game against rival Oil City and never let up. The Knights fended off a second half push by the Oilers to take the 65-59 region win in The Castle. The Knights led 14-5 after one, using aggressive defenses that kept the Oilers from hitting a field goal for the first five minutes. Franklin outscored Oil City again in the second to increase their lead to 32-17. It was more of the same to start the third quarter with Jameson Wofford sending two blocks flying into the stands. But the Oilers fought back to decrease the gap to 10 at 45-35. Both teams saved their best efforts for last. Oilers won the stanza, pulling as close as four points with 15 seconds to play. Wofford had a game-high 21 points for the Knights, including 13 in the second half. Nevin Stinson had 20 points for the Oilers. |    |
The two teams will meet again on Feb. 10 at Oil City's House of Hustle.
