Payton Liederbach was named the MVP as Oil City beat Cranberry 38-21 to claim the title in the Roy Sanner Tip-Off Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Rocky Grove High School. It was a repeat of last years championship and a great way for first year head coach Jan Newell to start her tenure with the Oilers. The night before they handled the tournament hosts scoring 47 points while only giving up 26 Liederbach's ball handling and 27 points in two games lead the Oilers. She joined on the all-tournament team by teammate Sophie Garmong who poured in 21 and played tough as nails defense. Other members of the all-tournament were Avery Coe and Raegen Antrilli of Cranberry, RaeLynn Montgomery of Rocky Grove, and Abbie Colie of Titusville The Berries beat the Titusville 38-28 Friday to earn the spot in the championship game In the consolation game, Rocky Grove defeated Titusville 49-39.
