Franklin senior runner Caleb Prettyman bettered all his times from the District 10 meet to earn three medals at the PIAA Track and Field State Championships Friday and Saturday in Shippensburg.
Prettyman finished the 1600 meter run in 4:16.49 to earn a silver medal. It was a 6-second improvement over his District 10 title time.
On Saturday, Prettyman ran two races and had two more podium finishes. In the 3200 meter run, he finished fourth with a time of 9:20.03, 23 seconds faster than districts. In the 800 meter run he improved by nearly two seconds to finish 6th with a time of 1:56.97.
Oil City's Ethen Knox was Venango County's other medalist. He was sixth in the discus with a toss 153-9, more than 6 feet further than his district title throw.
