Titusville will head into post season competition on the wings of a win over Warren this weekend.

It was a bounce back from them following a close 31-29 loss to Sharpsville in the District 10 team duals competition. (The pictures included in this story are from the Sharpsville match.)

Following that match, Titusville wrestling coach Joel Stearns planned matter of fact with his athletes. “Hey it wasn’t your best outing, you didn’t wrestle your best and you lost. So, how does it feel losing? It doesn’t feel good, so you don’t want to feel that again, so let’s kick 'er in the butt in the wrestling room (in practice),” Stearns said would be his message to the team. “As much as you hate to lose you learn more from your losses.”

The message seemed to be received as the Rockets won seven in a row on their way to a 51-13 victory over the Dragons and several Titusville grapplers ended the regular season by scoring falls.

Trenton Rodgers opened Saturday's match by pinning Josh Letko in 3:17 at 133 pounds.

Nate Stearns followed him by pinning his 139 competitor, Connor Zaffino in 0:43.

Gavin Donaldson won by forfeit at 145.

Landen Wolfkiel pinned Grant Heeter in 3:11 in the 152 weight class.

Jonathan Miller won by foreit at 160.

Brock Covell, who is only 10 wins away from 100 wins during his Rocket athletic career according to pa-wrestling.com, pinned Landon Nelson, in 1:01.

Ending out the Rockets winning stretch, was Kameron Mong, who pinned Evan Swanson in 4:45 to capture the 189 bout.

Also scoring for the Rockets were Coleman Huck who had a 10-4 decision over Trentin Anthony at 127 and Hunter Obert won by forfeit at 285.

Warren won the 107, 114 and 215 bouts. There was no 121 match.

Titusville will travel to Meadville High School Friday and Saturday for the Section 1 competition.
