As of 10:19 a.m. November, 1, 2021 the Franklin Fine Arts Council has yet to find that perfect 40-foot-ish tall green cone of happiness to warm residents and visitor's hearts during the cold holiday season in Franklin. Events coordinator Ronnie Beith said they look each year for a well shaped 35-45 foot Douglass Fir or similar breed that is located within a reasonable driving distance of the courthouse.
They hope to find someone each year who has a tree they wouldn't mind having removed for free to donate to the city. That person or family then becomes part of Franklin's holiday tradition and are added to the long list of good people making a difference for others during the holidays. If anyone knows of a tree they think would make a great holiday centerpiece in front of Franklin's iconic courthouse, they should call Ronnie ASAP at 814-437-1619 x 123 or message her onFacebook here. |
