Farmer's market grows as county's yellow phase kicks into gear

The Franklin Farmer's Market was in full swing Saturday with vendors lining 12th Street near the courthouse. As the weather warms in the spring, the market, which runs year round, typically starts to see an increase in participation from vendors offering an array of items, including fresh produce, baked goods, and handmade merchandise. "When it kicks in there will be [vendors] on both sides of 12th Street and the road will be closed," said long-time vendor Mark Slingluff who is a fourth generation farmer and vendor.
The market is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 6 AM to 1 PM.  Vendors who participate in at least nine Saturday markets are eligible for the Applefest weekend as well.
