With names like Crue, Kaiser, Coda, a few variations of Kaiden, Caden, Caiden, a couple Cadence's, a Catalina and a bunch of Tyler's, Franklin Area High School's 128 strong class of 2024 is now set out to make their mark on the world. Teachers, family and the friends of the grads had dry butts at Sunday night's graduation ceremony due to the committee's decision to move the ceremony inside. So in the packed auditorium the class valediction Savana Steigerwald told a bit about her journey to learn that perfection is a perception of a goal and not an actual achievable thing. A difficult lesson at first, but one she has grown into and embraces as she moves on. Salutatorian, Reston Weismann kicked his speech off with a selfie with the entire audience. He then had everyone laughing with recollections of class fun times and teacher reactions to said, at times, shenanigans. Co-principal Kris Miller presented the class to superintendent Eugene Thomas. Thomas told the class, his second as the district leader, that they are always going to be Knight's carrying the torch of the school wherever they go. At the end of it all, the grads completed twelve years of school together, tossed the square hats into the air, found them again and left the school with diploma's in hand. Hugs, pats on the back and hundreds of pictures were taken. And now the world is their oyster. More photos below from Sunday's graduation. |
