Each year the Oil City fire department collects money through boot drives in order to pay for a July 4th celebration of fireworks on Jolly July 3rd. Usually the city is abuzz with activity with events throughout downtown and in Justus Park. Due to COVID-19 much of the festivities were cancelled, but the fireworks were not.
