Around this time six years ago I was fascinated with this new-fangled thing called a cell phone camera (yes I was horribly late to the game.) My friend Craig Walker had visited and I watched him make photograph after photograph with his phone. I was fascinated watching him move holding this tiny device out in front of him. Then I saw what his pulitzer-prize winning eyes and heart could do with it. He also had this funky app called Hipstamatic.
I couldn't wait to modernize my self after that by getting a retro-looking app and a cellphone, not n that order. Haha.
Next thing I knew I was obsessed with this app and making images with this phone despite the $10,000 worth of fancy camera gear around my neck. I even made several photographs for the newspaper using this phone and occasionally the app. I would always write an editor's note when using the app since it did alter color and textures at times.
This photograph taken in Saegertown ended up being my most-liked photograph of 2014 according to that other new-fangled fancy internet fad called Facebook (again, always late to the game.)
