A crowd of around 50, mostly donned in red, and many wearing Polk Strong shirts and masks came to hear some speeches by area politicians such as state Representative R. Lee James and the county's three commissioners - Sam Breene, Mike Dulaney and Chip Abromovic.
Several thank yous were handed out and vows to keep up the fight to keep the center open for the people who call it their home.
Below are a few of the photos I took at the event. Ribbons were strewn out on posts and trees and Tracy Stonesifer gave impassioned cries of "Together We Are Polk Strong."
