“Reopening the pool and recreation area was one of the long-term goals of the new owners, who purchased Wanango Country Club in 2016,” said Jess Rosen, the club’s events and marketing director.
“We want to create more of a family-type atmosphere at Wanango Country Club by creating an affordable social membership,” said Rosen.
“Familia Omnis,” which translate to “Every Family,” is the new focus of the country club's owners.
For more than 120 years this historic plot has hosted many an important affair and fine dining. The current facelift to a portion of the facility will give guests a mix of traditional country club offerings with a splash of more modern pastimes.
A new saltwater pool and kiddie pool have been built. The bathhouse was renovated. Soon the former tennis courts will be made into areas to play pickle ball, bocce ball and basketball. The final step will be opening a snack shack.
And Rosen plans to keep the updated facilities hopping with lots of options for members with a target opening of Memorial Day weekend.
“We are planning to organize both pickle ball and bocce ball leagues,” she said. “We hope to organize water aerobics, pool-side yoga, children’s events and more this summer.”
