As if on cue, the rain stopped right as the Liberty Fest Parade kicked off Saturday. "Ronnie made it stop," a teary Pat Dolecki said of her friend Ronnie Beith, who passed away earlier this year. Dolecki, the president of the Franklin Fine Arts Council, is one of the primary organizers of this year's July 4th events that Beith took care of for many years.
All summer long, people familiar with Franklin events will enjoy them bittersweetly. They will revel in carrying on Beith's work in her memory and honor but will shed a tear or two because they miss her. Beith always said it takes a village to put on these events, seldom taking any credit for her work. Now her "village" carries the torch onward - as she would want.
