Exhibitors appear to be down this year from years past, but that doesn't stop the volunteers from putting in the sweat equity needed to keep the fair's tradition thriving. The home show building began filling up on Monday, the bah's of sheep and the roarss of Ford F150's drew folks from one side of the festival to the other to see what the ruckus was all about.
Pies were tasted and photographs judged (I was fortunate enough to be allowed to judge the creative work.) Bblooming flowers grabbed eyes and noses. Quilts displayed artistry and a sense of knowing that cooler nights are just around the corner. All of this in the Home Show building.
Outside the smell of BBQ, funnel cakes and hot sausage made it official, it is fair season in Northwest Pa.
To see what is happening at the fair this week visit our calendar page. And don't forget the parade Wed.
