Going into the game both squads had similar records and both were struggling to constantly win. Franklin popped out looking ready for the fight, but failed to get a first down on the opening drive leading to an incredible punt by their soccer star kick Nathon Pfenningwerth pinning Oil City deep. A couple plays later Ethen "Into the daylight" Knox just totally changed the momentum in the time it took hime to run 87 yards, which wasn't very long at all.
That was it for the Knights. That series of events that took in the neighborhood of three minutes, set the tone. This was Oil City's night. It was Knox's night shattering the single game rushing mark held by Christian Cole and tting a host of others with five touchdown nights. And he is a sophomore.
Knox had another career night and the Oilers marched on to a 54 to 8 victory.

Below see a few more photos from the event that was also a senior night for Franklin and a night that a wonderful act of sportsmanship was noted by coach Matt Turk as an Oil City player was concerned for a Franklin player lying injured on his back in the middle of the field. This was a beautiful moment in a game that was hard to watch from a football standpoint.
Kudos to Oil City's number 88, Cam Crocker. He should get athlete of the week.
