It started out looking like the Manny Perez show Tuesday night as the Titusville Rockets hosted cross-town and over the gravel pit and woods rivials Maplewood for a boys basketball game.
Perez scored seven points before Maplewood's Cole Doolittle got a bucket to go. Perez had 19 points before halftime.
But his teammate, Isiah Colon was the one nobody could stop. Twenty-five first-half points allowed him, along with the other starters in an early rest in the second half. Colon ended up with a game-high 29 points in only three-quarters of work as the Rockets zoomed to an 81-45 win.
The running clock was implemented and the younger kids were given some valuable play time.
The two squads faced each other at the start of the season in the consolation game of the Rocky Grove tip-off tournament. That affair ended up with Titusville cruising to a 61-27 victory.
On Tuesday night, Maplewood's Dollittle led his team 15 points and Jacob Woge added a few final quarter points to end up with 12 points.
With the win, the Rockets' record improves to 5-2 while the Wood drops to 1-6 overall.
