Jesus Is Life Ministry, located off Route 417 just north of Franklin, will hold its annual B.I.B.L.E. Camp children (roughly 8 to 18) July 25-29.

B.I.B.L.E. Camp (which stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) features overnight camping, Bible lessons, horseback riding, crafts and more. There will be games, campfires, swimming, basketball, trails in the woods and a zip line.

"Our mission for B.I.B.L.E. Camp is to honor God by planting seeds of faith in the hearts of the campers who come," said camp director Josiah Hannah.

"The focus of camp changes from year to year," Hannah said. "This year, our theme is based on a Bible verse in Luke 8:18 that says, 'Take heed, therefore, how you hear.' We will be encouraging the kids and the adults who serve as staff members to pay attention to how they are listening for God's voice and direction as they go about their daily lives. These lessons can carry on way past the few days we spend together in the woods," he said.

Hannah said he expects to host around 25-30 campers and at least that many adults -- all volunteers for the week's events and all with clearances that are required by the state to keep children safe, "Of course, we hope to have even more campers come," he said. "We won't turn anyone away."

Jesus Is Life Ministry is a small Christian ministry made up of families from different churches in the region whose calling is to build and edify God's people in various ways. B.I.B.L.E. Camp is one of these ways; other ways include short-term mission trips to Brazil and Haiti and weekly Bible studies. "Everything we do is for God's glory," Hannah said. "And it's all open to anyone who has a heart to be a part of it."

The ministry is holding a yard sale at  260 Jesus is the Way in Franklin on June 3 starting at 9 a.m. The yard sale benefits the camp program. About 10 families have gathered items and donated them to be sold. All proceeds will be used to help defray the costs of the camp. "Food is so expensive," Hannah said. "That alone is our biggest expense, but we also need to buy horse care supplies, items to build obstacle courses and trail activities, arts and craft supplies, and so much more," he said.

"This is the same day as the annual Dempseytown Yard Sales," Hannah said. "We will have a place for people to get a bite to eat and rest a little while before heading back out to the sales."

Registration is due by July 1 and the cost is $200. Campers will receive a T-shirt.
