The Innovation Institute for Tomorrow and the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to help some high school students attend a high-level robotics competition this spring in Texas. A night of Drones and Drinks will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Grumpy Goat Distillery on Liberty Street in Franklin. The event is a celebration of the recent successes of several area VEX robotics teams from Cranberry, Rocky Grove and North Clarion high schools, as well as a fundraiser to cover the costs of several of the 50 teens' trip to VEX Worlds in Dallas, Texas in May. Tickets for the event are $33 and include dinner and beverages for The Grumpy Goat Distillery, The Homegrown Kitchen and All Over The Campfire. Additional fundraisers will also take place including an opportunity to fly a drone to win a prize. Limited seating is available and the event is open to those 18 and older. Tickets can be purchased online. |
