To help boost efforts to start an art collection in the halls of Franklin High School, the senior class will be hosting a "Night of the Arts" fundraiser. A sale and auction of items created by Franklin Art School District students and staff will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, in the auditorium lobby. Immediately following the fundraiser, the senior high school band and choir will perform their annual holiday concert. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to purchase art from regional artists and start an art collection at the school. "As the collection grows, it will become a source for the community to tour, be a fundamental tool in instruction, celebrate the arts, and act as an art time capsule for what was relevant to our students the year they selected it," said Darrellyn Freeman, Franklin art teacher and program coordinator. |
