After a successful opening photography show, the Oil City Arts Council is again flooding the basement Graffiti gallery with art, this time three-dimensional creations from area artists.
The show, titled Form, Furniture, Frolic, opens Friday with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. The gallery will also be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday's and Sunday through June 10 (with the exception of Mother's Day May 14).
This is a non-juried show featuring original pieces by area artists working in sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, glass, woodworking and more. It is free to the public and welcomes adults as well as children.
Artists exhibiting pay a fee to show and the fees go toward the space's rent and maintenance. The artists participating in the show will be volunteer gallery sitters through the show’s duration giving the public a chance to learn about the creators while enjoying their work. Many pieces, if not all of the exhibited work will be available for purchase.
Graffiti Gallery is located at 210 Seneca Street in the historic National Transit Building Annex
and features various art exhibits throughout the year, organized under the Oil City Arts Council.
