Popular trail race returns after COVID hiatus. The Oil Creek 5 & 13 mile “Stacked” Trail Races will take place on May 21
The race, which starts and finishes at Drake Well Museum in Titusville, travels along the Gerard Hiking Trail in Oil Creek State Park.
New in 2022 the race will not run concurrently, rather they will start 90 minutes apart beginning with the five mile race. This allows runners who wish to run in both races the opportunity to do so. This adds additional awards for the true enthusiast's trophy cases if they want to run two style's of race over 18 miles.
"You will need to bring your A game as there is a strict 90 minute cutoff for those 5 mile runners attempting both race distances." their website reads. The trail races support the Friends of Drake Well and Titusville Area Trail Association's efforts to make improvements to the visibility and safety of trail users at Drake Well Museum and the Queen City Trail crossing at the Jersey Bridge Trail Head on Drake Well Road.
This race will be chip timed by Miles of Smiles. Race results will also be fed to Ultrasignup. The top three male and top three female winners of the stacked times will have guaranteed entry (not race fees) into a race distance(s) of the OC100 yet to be determined.
