The Oil Region Alliance has produced a couple publications aimed at helping tourism and educate locals on the opportunities the region has to offer. The Oil Region Driving Tour Booklet and the Oil Region Guide have been updated an released recently.. The full color Oil Region Driving Tour Booklet "directs users to points of interest throughout the Oil Region National Heritage Area," according to a press release. “The Driving Tour focuses on the geography and natural features and the way the landscape informed the social and economic development of the Oil Region National Heritage Area,” said Abbe Watson-Popescu, ORA Project Manager, who updated and developed the content of the Driving Tour. “I hope that folks will use it to discover new pockets of the ORNHA and visit sites they didn’t realize existed,” Watson-Popescu said. The 56-page Oil Region Guide highlights the Oil Region National Heritage Area’s history, outdoor recreational offerings, arts and culture, hospitality amenities, and more through articles and advertisements, according to the ORA press release. Emily Altomere, communications and tourism manager at the ORA, hopes this helps provide “a wonderful opportunity to introduce people to new things to love about the Oil Region.” The Guide is distributed locally at visitor centers and other points of interest, along highways in rest areas and welcome centers. It can also be viewed online at: OilRegion.org/tourism/visitor-guide/. |
