Abstract painter and photographer Michael David Hull and digital painter and poet Todd Paropacic will exhibit recent works at the City Gallery at 1503 State Street beginning with an opening reception from 7 to 10 p.m. on June 23.
Their show titled "Painting without Brushes" will feature Hull's abstract pieces and Paropacic's prints of digitally created pieces.
Paropacic is a poet, singer/songwriter, digital
painter and sculptor from Erie, He’s been featured in two exhibitions, published three collections of poetry,
with his latest being "History, Now!" He is also a member of the lounge pop trio, PianoPunk. His work is largely stylized figurative abstractions.
Hull is an abstract artist, photographer, and writer from Waterford. His work has been featured in multiple exhibitions and publications and his work can be found in Artlore Studio, Glass Growers Gallery and City Gallery. He is also a contributing writer and photographer for the Erie Reader and is the founder and publisher of the online blog called "The Raw Image", which features many area artists and musicians. Hull's painting are inspired by the cosmos and he uses splatters, drips and sponges mostly to create his imagined abstractions.
The City Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and show will be up for roughly a month.
The reception will feature refreshments and music by Mackenzie Sprague.
