Grove XC dominates their own invitational

​For the second year in a row, Rocky Grove took the boys team title at their annual invitational at Two Mile Run County. The Orioles dominated the competition, scoring only 62 points and having three runners in the top ten and all their runners finish in the top 30. ​

Seniors Ethan Knapp and Easton Adamczyk finished 3-4, both with a time of 17:46. Gauge Gierlach was ninth in 18:15. Also running for the Orioles were Schiffer Anderson, 22; Cael Dailey, 24; Nathaniel Bolley, 26; and Maxx Baker, 28, who all finished in less than 20 minutes. ​

Caleb Prettyman was the top local runner. The Franklin senior finished second with a time of 17:25. His brother, Jay Prettyman was sixth in 18:03. Other Knight runners were Jackson Wilson, 77; Trace Silvis, 81; Kyle Phipps, 84; Hayden Bellis, 85; and Jack McNulty, 97. The team finished seventh out of 22 teams.

Oil City, which has been competing without junior Elijah Brosius, who was injured a few weeks ago, finished third in the team competition. The Oilers were led by sophomore Keegan Kirkwood, who finished fifth in a time of 18:01. Also scoring for Oil City were Eli Collins, 13; Elliot Hulsizer, 41; Colin Liederbach, 43; and Brandon Murray, 57.

Cranberry runners were Kaleb Heath, 42; Mariner Perry, 47; Dane Wenner, 56; Elias Fox, 66; Thatcher Matassa, 68; Dalton Wenner, 96; and Hunter Montgomery, 101.

Competing for Titusville was Bryan Johnson, 37; Josiah White, 55; Cash Lavery, 64; Andrew Bryan, 67; Evan Slocum, 83; Sawyer Wolfkiel, 102; and Aiden Patterson, 108.

Lincoln Kier cracked the top 25 for Maplewood. The Tigers were also represented in the team competition by Austin Szympruch, 58; Jacob Woge, 61; Logan Kier, 73; Joseph Granat, 104; Zachary McGowan, 115; and Jordan Downer, 139.

There were 221 runners from 25 schools at the invitational.
