Sixteen teams competed in the rainy 5K race. Other local teams were Oil City (fifth), Rocky Grove (11) Maplewood (14), and Franklin (15). There were 137 runners who finished the race, including some from eight schools that did not have enough racers to complete as a team.
Cranberry sisters Kelsey and Kayla Hanna both finished in the top ten. Kelsey was second with a time of 21:27, and Kayla was sixth with a time of 22:02. Sophomore Isabel Griffin was the home team’s top runner with a time of 22:10, which was good enough for seventh. Titusville’s Anna Mehlenbacher was eighth with a time at time of 22:12. Oil City’s Addison Wyant finished with a 22:26 and 10th place.
Along with Hanna sisters, Cranberry was represented by Karleigh Shaffer, 12; Jordan Montgomery, 34; Zofia Earp, 62; and Taylor Hepler, 75.
Oil City racers, along with Shiley and Wyant, were Olivia Vorse, 18; Arianna Griffin, 52; Laila Marvin, 55; Payton Liederbach, 56; and Jadyn White, 79.
Rocky Grove had five runners, just enough to compete as a team. Isabel Griffin led the team and was joined at the finish line by Kaylin Jacoby, 38; Sophie Werhl, 51; Ellie Coyer, 70; and Ryleigh Baughman, 90.
Franklin competed without their top runner, Nadalie Latchaw. Racing at the invitational for the Knights were Gabrielle Ion, 54; Madison Marsh, 65; Olivia Tawney, 76; Lilliana Fonzo, 82; and Emma Ahmadian, 85.
Maplewood racers were Shauna Pillar, 50th; Rhinn Post, 60th; Sylvi Wright, 78th; Laura Slagle, 80th; and Joslyn Blake, 88th.
