The two teams were close after one quarter at the House of Hustle, as Franklin had a slim lead of 8-6. The Knights outscored the Oilers 9-3 in the second.
Oil City opened the second half with two three-pointers before Franklin matched their effort plus one. The Oilers closed out the quarter with a field goal at the three-second mark. It was the last points they would score until Franklin subbed out their starters with less than a minute and a half left to play. Despite their troubles connecting for points from layups and shots in the paint, Franklin managed 14 points in the final stanza. With the win, Franklin improves to 12-8 on the season and 4-4 in Region 5. They return to action on Monday when they host Meadville before closing out the regular season with a game in Corry on Thursday. |
