Franklin's only goal came from a very precise 30-yard curving kick from Caleb Griffin from near the sideline at an angle most would think had little chance of going in, never mind hitting the back of the net untouched, much to the surprise of the McLane goalkeeper.
McLane was keyed in on being aggressive and tormenting Nate Pfennigwerth all night. The ball stayed mostly on their side of field and when Franklin seemed to get some open field they paid the price often ending up on the ground from agressive defense. The Lancer just had more scoring chances and as a result, more goals.
This was one of the best seasons for the Knights who finished with and impressive 16 wins and only three losses and a tie.
