In stark contrast to last year's opening-round games, the Oil City girls looked season ready to tip off their 2022-23 campaign. On Saturday they rolled over Cranberry 53-27 to kick off the Roy Sanner tournament at Rocky Grove High School.
They then returned the following day to steamroll a Titusville team, who the night before easily defeated the Orioles, the defending champions of the tournament.

The 56-8 win allowed their bench to get some playing time and gave the team a title and momentum going into the regular season, which is expected to start Friday at home against Brookville.
