Rocky Grove is showered with kisses... Hersey kisses

Trevor Hamilton and his fellow Rocky Grove teammates posed for photos with giant Hershey chocolate bars after all seven runners finished in the top 25 and repeated as D-10 champions Saturday in Titusville.

Ethan Knapp finished in fourth place.

Evan Wolfgong finished in sixth place.

Easton Adamczyk finished in 15th place.

Brett Stevenson finished in 20th place.

 Isaac Clayton finished in 23rd place.

Trevor Hamilton finished in 24th place.

Schiffer Anderson finished in 25th place.

Area Runners Fare Well at District Cross Country Races

With another strong finish by the Three Es, the Rocky Grove High School boys cross country team captured a repeat District 10 Class A championship Saturday in Titusville. All seven Oriole runners finished in the top 25 for a team total of 63 points.

Sophomore Ethan Knapp led the team with a time of 18 minutes, 6 seconds and a fourth-place finish, followed by junior Evan Wolfgong in sixth and sophomore Easton Adamczyk in 15th. Team members senior Brett Stevenson placed 20th; followed shortly by the trio of seniors Isaac Clayton, 23rd; senior Trevor Hamilton, 24th and freshman Schiffer Anderson, 25th.

The finish earns them a trip to the Sweetest Place of Earth. All seven runners will complete in the Class A race at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, November 6 in Hershey, and will take on squads from across the state, including Venango County’s own Cranberry High School that won the District 9 race held Saturday in Ridgeway.

​Other area runners qualifying in Class A include junior Colson Jenkins of Lakeview, who won the District 10 contest; the senior pair of Hunter Spaid and Corbin Lehner, Cambridge Springs, third and 13th; sophomore Kyler Woolstrum and junior Chase Miller, Cochranton; fifth and eighth; senior Riley Runyon, Jamestown, seventh; freshman Lincoln Kier, Maplewood, ninth; and junior Sam Hetrick, Saegertown, 11th.   

In AA boy’s action, Conneaut Area School, led by top ten finishes from seniors Jordan Kullen and Simeon Hunter, won second place in the team competition to earn a trip to Hershey. Other team members include seniors Dylan Fletcher, Zach Wheeler, Nathaniel Turner and Evan Alsdorf, and sophomore Daniel Hunter.
 

​Sophomore Nadalie Latchaw of Franklin was the top local finisher in the girl’s races, taking fourth place in the AA division with a time of 20 minutes and 47 seconds. She will be joined in the state competition by Oil City’s Kennedy Liederbach, a sophomore who earned 10th place.

​The Lakeview girls team won the A division team title with 88 points. Team members include Kady Alexander (junior), Mikayla Montgomery (senior), Abby Mellon (senior), Aubrey Hogue (senior), Alaina Peltonen (junior), Lydia Reed (junior) and Kelsey Seddon (junior).
​

Area individual qualifiers include freshman Karis McElhaney and senior Claire Anderson, Jamestown, second and fifth; and senior Paige Fuller, Saegertown, seventh. The Cranberry girls team took first place in the A division race in District 9 and will meet Lakeview at the state championships.
